Company profile: Murthwaite Green is a family run business specialising in high quality riding holidays and trekking for all abilities. Enjoy fantastic Beach Rides on miles of golden sands - gallop through the surf. Enjoy a scenic fell ride. 1/2hour to full day treks. Excellent well-schooled horses & ponies, friendly and fully qualified staff - all hold the British Equestrian Tourism qualifications, first aid and riding and road safety.

Destination Profile: Half a mile from the centre is Silecroft beach which is a five mile long sandy beach ideal for riding. We are on the Irish Sea Coast and on a clear day can see over to the Isle of Man. Shadowing the beach are the fells of Black Combe and nearby fells. Ideal riding country with fantastic scenery. This is a quiet corner of the Lake District with lots to offer.
About the horses: We currently have 19 horses and ponies. Mostly cob types (lots of coloured cobs), all are well mannered and well schooled.
